Separate the agencies before filing
The planner does not treat “start a business” as one form. It identifies the decisions and authorities introduced by the facts you select.
1. Resolve the activity
The product or service determines whether seller registration, professional licensing, health, safety or other specialist agencies enter the path.
2. Resolve the governing location
Incorporated cities and unincorporated county territory have different local governments. Property questions use the exact premises authority.
3. Separate entity and operating permission
Secretary of State formation and records answer entity questions. They do not approve the activity or premises.
4. Add tax and employment branches
Tangible sales and California employees introduce separate CDTFA, IRS, EDD and workplace questions.
5. Keep recurring dates visible
The Statement of Information calendar starts from the formation date and entity type, then points back to BizFile for confirmation.
6. Stop outside verified coverage
The planner names an unsupported combination instead of substituting another jurisdiction's instructions.
